European River Cruises Becoming Popular Vacation Choice
European river cruises have become all the rage, and for good reason. On a river cruise in Europe, you can enjoy the luxuries of having your hotel travel with you, and not having to check-in and check-out, or pack and unpack in each city you visit. Unlike ocean cruises, where you may have a long motorcoach ride to the city center from the seaport, Europe’s cities and towns were built along its rivers, and on a European river cruise your moving hotel is usually right in the city center. Just step off and enjoy!

Is the Credit Crunch Affecting Holiday Bookings?
Gloucester, UK (PRWEB) October 28, 2008 -- The credit crunch does not seem to have affected holiday makers taking value breaks to Europe, in fact they have risen. River cruising breaks have steadily increased in popularity over the last few months, with no let up in October and November. More people are now requesting to book a river cruise, hoping to get away from the doom and gloom of the British weather and politics. Travelling throughout Switzerland and the Rhine are the most requested destinations.
River cruising sales are on the increase, with the average river cruise holiday now only costing £699 for two people to Europe. Combined with the influx of mass market appeal, low priced fare's, and all year round availability, this has certainly helped increase the sales for river cruises. One tour operator, Phoenix Holidays, who caters for both the UK and European river cruise market, has commissioned extra British chartered vessels to cope with the sudden demand for late deals for their winter breaks.
Darren Parris MD, of Phoenix Holidays, said, "We have always ensured that prices for our holidays represent excellent value for money, customer's book with us, time and time again, we have noted a significant increase in local customers, simply coming to our offices in Gloucester, to sit with travel advisers and book their holiday face to face."
European river cruises are fast becoming the preferred choice for the Silver Cruiser. The Silver Cruisers as they are fast becoming known, enjoy unpacking their case once, on board their floating hotel, whilst traveling throughout various countries. For those who find it difficult to walk long distances, having their cabin on board with low level beds ensures they can still visit many countries whilst taking to cabin for some rest, if required. This close proximity to accommodation is a major factor as to why so many people find river cruising enjoyable, safe and relaxing, especially popular with the over 50's. Holiday makers are loyal with the company they trust, and book repeat holidays throughout the year.
Switzerland in October and November 2008 seems to be the most popular destination this year for river cruising, according to Phoenix Holidays.
